Sam Johnson

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of Sam Johnson. Always known for his big smile, willingness to help any rower and with the ability to fix anything, Sam was appreciated by all members of the Club. If you did not have the fortune of meeting Sam, you have encountered his works from his time spent on fixing Club boats, working in the Oar House, training us how to rig the boats, plus many other contributions that will live on for decades.
Sam and his wife Mary Ann adopted the SCRC as their prized Club when they retired to Santa Cruz many years ago. Our social meetings are held at their Capitola home, they call “The Clubhouse”. The Club will have a tribute for Sam in the near term.
